Expansion and Infusion of Age-Friendly Communities Principles
AFIC is committed to promoting the expansion of the Age-Friendly Communities work. Through the generous support of The Health Path Foundation of Ohio, AFIC launched a technical assistance program to support the growth across the state of Ohio. Through the leadership of AFIC, Columbus was selected as the inaugural community for the US-Japan Healthy and Resilient Aging Exchange, recognizing Columbus as an exceptional model of the Age-Friendly communities work within the US. In addition, the program was presented at Silla University in South Korea,
the International Federation on Aging in Bangkok, Thailand, and at the Aging Forum in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

2023 US-Japan Healthy and Resilient Aging Exchange
JCIE conducted a one-week study tour in Japan as part of its new program on healthy aging, focusing on US-Japan collaboration and information-sharing on how each country is addressing common issues facing aging societies.
With the support of the HealthPath Foundation of Ohio, TAP is a first-of-its-kind initiative to increase the number of and support to Ohio Communities working toward age-friendly goals.
