Background
The Senior Services Roundtable of Columbus and Franklin County (SSRT) is a well-established group, with 15 years of community impact. SSRT was formed in 2007 by a collection of core members including Fran Ryan, Mary Funk, Columbus firefighter Alonzo "Lonnie" King, Mike Sexton, and Dave Paul. These individuals, through their work and personal lives, cared deeply about connecting older adults to quality services and supports throughout the region. Over time the group grew to include over 500 members from a range of organizations. Through meetings and an email list server the group has facilitated a significant number of connections across the aging network to better support older adults in the community.
Today, the group is led by The Age-Friendly Innovation Center (AFIC) and supported by Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging (COAAA). The group currently meets on the third Wednesday of the month. Everyone is welcome to join whether you are student, older adult, professional, or all the above.
